VP Jarzynski: talked to Pioneer- new president - but will be staying in. New FTS as well. Thatcher is new president and delegate of Bay State - wants to get judges up there.
VP Gibble: Stacy Ober no longer with AKC. Will need Jason and Larry to keep ears out for New England News. PA Sunday hunting - advocating for Sunday hunting in late season as well, January and Feb for small game and bobcat.
VP Andrews: Couple of clubs sent in information on trials, waiting on 2026 schedule, consistency results will be posted via link. Blaine has about ½ clubs trial dates, can add clubs to schedule as dues come in. Plan to update website with Baystate information
Treasurer Roof: 21 clubs paid dues so far, which is normal pace. Checking 4575, saving 3736, 1230 in venmo, 350 pending deposits - total balance just over 10 grand. Tunk still did not cash/deposit their 750 championship fee, Justin will look into.
Fall champ trial - entries 35 for derby 37 for FC, went to Stone Creek for garmin equipment last minute - got 250 discount from garmin. Lost about $1000 at Fall trial when all said and done after all fundraisers. Discussion held to not do stone creek gift cards going forward- as 1000 was spent on them.
Field TRL SEC Wiseman : thank everyone so much for the award
North Region Director Mazza : Rhody may be selling their club. Thornton is selling grounds rights. Palmerton has minimal members to hold trial. Paskamansett and Eastern Connecticut doing well.
South Region Director Sherman: Sent AKC information sheet for scheduling a judges seminar to Jason Wiseman. When we call the clubs that we have not received dues, ask first if they have sent them and when, at least two clubs sent their dues in December but the postal service has not delivered them yet. I have not called Mark Malloy from Purina but I will by January 17th. I was unable to open the spreadsheet for the consistency to start calculating the top sire and dam of the year, John will email the original to me.
Central Region Director Way: Going to reach out to Garmin for obtaining gear for June Championship trial. Need 1 bundle per class won. Blue ridge is paying IBGF.
Old Business: John identified all winning consistency dogs - still waiting on dog food amounts, will give at June trial. Blaine requested between 20 and 30 dollars for custom prizes from supplier. John will announce consistency Winners when prizes are figured out.
New Business: SPO nationals in NC Carolina Tarheel BC. Matt Brommer representing NEBGF, Brian Grove declined. Waiting on AKC judge panel approval.
Discussion held about keeping people in poor standing with AKC out of trials. Decided too hard to police.

i) 2026 Elections spread sheets were
emailed to the board members prior to
this meeting, a discussion was had
about what to send to the clubs and
place on the website. Just send the
winners not how the clubs voted along
with which clubs voted.

D. VP Gibble, A very nice meeting with the PA
Game Commission on August 21st, we had
a good representation by beaglers.
PA clubs there is a closed dog season before
Jr bird hunting season on State Game lands.
Bear & Deer rifle season, running is shut
down for large hounds, but does it apply to
beagles? John will get a statement of
clarification from the Game Commission.
It is the end of the legislative sessions, not
much is happening right now, farm bill still
not finished, it is a good time to contact
your local representatives and senators,
thank them for their support in matters that
affect our sport.
E. VP Andrews, Jayden had hoped that after
the discussion at the annual meeting clubs
respond by sending updated information
about their clubs for the website. He hasn’t
received anything at this point.
F. Treasurer Barlow,
i) Financial Report, the report was sent to
everyone. The beginning balance 8-1-
26, $3,941.85, Deposits $60.33,
Expenses $510.00, Ending balance
$3,492.18.
Robin will be at the October trial if
clubs would like to pay their dues.
Robin suggested that we start talking
about the dues being due now and not
waiting until December to do so. At this
point two clubs have paid their 2027
dues, they arrived in September and
will reflect in next month’s account
balance.
G. FLD TRL SEC Wiseman
i) The October Championship ribbons are
ordered, Judges have agreed to their
classes, AKC paperwork is filled. Jason
will arrive on Friday at York & Adams.
York & Adams is hoping to host a
dinner Saturday night, details are not
complete for that. Currently, there is a
good supply of rabbits. Could we
possibly have a Calcutta auction for the
Field Champions, like they do in Two
Couple Pack? We will auction dog food
and a collar.
H. North Region director Mazza Things are
going well, AKC New England Legislative
Assistant and Community Outreach,
Korinna Locke attend their trail.
I. South Region Director Chestnut, no report,
gun raffle went well, sold 1800 tickets,
Rayburn has 75 members. Pulling together
for a common goal is important!
J. Central Region Way, John Way, not present
K. Jr’s Liaison – The Jr’s would like to make the
Jr event a two-day event. If we liked the
annual meeting on a weeknight, they would
like to have their event on that weekend,
Week 31.
L. Marketing and Fundraising – A question
about where the quilt idea stands. The clubs
need to be asked to donate a club T-shirt to
the cause. Cindy Sherman is still willing to
piece it together, buy the backing and
batting and Robin Barlow is willing to do the
quilting at no charge for the NEBGF. It will
take some time to finish once the materials
are gathered.

the trial. 40 – 18lb bags, 8 cases of 2lb
bags for entries, 6 – 37.5lb bags for

B. Judging Seminar
i) Tunkhannock/Lycoming, We currently
have around 20 attendees, 25 are
required to have the training.
C. Club Development/Support
Beechton/Blue Juanita, Blue Juanita did not
give Beechton permission to run their SPO
trial on their date this year, like they have
over the last several years. This is a conflict
for AKC, however if AKC allows two licensed
trials per club per year then they should
drop the 100-mile requirement, it will take
care of itself because of economics for the
clubs. A question about Rainbows weekend,
for Beechton if Rainbow isn’t going to hold
a trial.

hounds. John received a call from a
club complaining about another
club running a consistency trial on
their date. He explained that the
NEBGF doesn’t regulate these trials
dates but post’s them on the website. Their date was wrong on
the website and no one confirmed
it from the club.
D. VP Gibble Good reports from many people,
everyone at Swatara were happy with
results. They made $7,200.00 over the
weekend.
All of the states are working on budgets,
regional directors may ask for help
contacting people as it is certain that we
will have opposition again this year.
E. VP Andrews, needs to update the schedule
and consistency on the website.
F. Treasurer Roof
i) Financial Report because of health
issues Bryson will be stepping down
and will work with Robin Barlow to
transition to Robin.
ii) Championship report we were down
about 30 entries from last year, $3,600
profit at this point, however we paid
for the Garmin gifts for the year as well
as all of the gifts for the year. Per capita
needs to be paid to AKC.
G. FLD TRL SEC Wiseman
i) Championship, we need to send the
per capita to AKC. The trial was
fantastic, Swatara’s efforts and our
officers worked well together making
the event fun and ran smoothly.

quilt of all the NEBGF clubs, if the

well. As per the by laws, Candidates must notify the board 60 days in advance of the

1. Korinna Locke, New England Legislative Analyst and Community Outreach, she has a
conformation breed kennel, Lives south of Boston, has a legal degree, just started with
AKC, learned about the AKC position while attending a show.

4. Officers’ Reports
1. President- Blaine Grove, one of the most enjoyable things to do is announce the
Sportsman of the Year award. Both candidates have outstanding qualifications.
1. Sportsman of the Year award recipient for 2027 is Tony Barlow
2. Questions about the judges for the runoff; only 18 clubs sent nominees for the judges for
the 2026 championship trials, because of the limited numbers, the selection was reduced.
The judge with the highest number of nominations is given first choice of the class they
wish to judge. Without having the other 26 clubs sending judges it limits the selection
process.
2. Vice-President-John Jarzynski,
1. Consistency, numbers seem to be down this year from last year for all age. Field
Champions get points at consistency trials; Field Champions are up in numbers.
August Hounds and Hunting cover is the NEBGF 2026 championship trial results.
Our website should be the first place for everyone to look for information. Your Clubs
consistency trial must be listed on the website 30 days before the trial.
3. VP Government Relations – John Gibble, I sent a report to the board that will be sent with
the minutes for every club. The big thing was the Farm Bill restricting Greyhounds, it would
have also stopped hunting and trialing with Beagles. We are involved with the Sportsman
alliance for national events. We send information to all the State offices as well. Privilege to
retrieve hounds was a big issue in Pennsylvania this past year. This is not a right but a
privilege, please be courteous when retrieving hounds from properties you are not
running/hunting on. Friday Aug 21st meeting with the game commission in Pennsylvania at
1:00 P.M. a large turnout would be helpful. AKC government relations work with all state
legislations, please support them when you can.
4. VP Communication Director- Jayden Andrews, the website is set up with links to be able
to see the current information. Many clubs are working to help keep the website up to date.
The website is your own minnie website. Keeping your current officers and locations for
your club is helpful to users, look at your club’s information. By-Laws, Standard operating
procedures and other things are there as well.
5. Secretary- Jeff Sherman, I’m learning the job. I hope to be in communication with your
clubs.
6. Treasurer- Robin Barlow, was appointed as the new treasurer, the spreadsheet is year to
date, $242.38 in the savings account. Checking account is YTD total $4,291.49. The profit
and loss sheet for the runoff will be completed after we have the H & H cost for the cover
paid.
1. Set annual dues, the dues will remain at $50.00 for 2027, Dues need to be paid by
December 31st along with your club judge nominations.
7. Field Trial Secretary- Jason Wiseman, the history of championship trial, we were down
this past year, Blaine has a chart showing the total numbers. Jason thanks all the help in
running the trials to help it run smoothly.

8. North Region Director- Larry Mazza, everything is going well in the NE.
9. Central Region Director- John Way, I have not attended many trials this year, I have not
had any complaints in the central region. I would encourage everyone to attend one of the
federation trials, a good time for everyone. Blaine thanked John for his efforts with
Garman’s sponsorship and got us back on board with them.
10. South Region Director- Greg Chestnut, has taken over as the south region director and
is looking forward to going forward. We are pleased to have a board member from western
PA.
5. Committee Reports
1. Eastern Regional JR Beaglers – we formed a committee for the juniors, with people from
across our Federation and other federations, they are Nicole Housel, Evan Getz,
this year they redesigned the logo for the Junior Beagles, this was the 12th championship
trial, they had 21 juniors at the competition this year. One junior graduate from the program
this year. Thank you to Cayuga Lake for hosting the event. Thank you for your donations,
individuals and sponsors.
2. AKC Nationals, Matt Brommer was our 2026 judge, 55 of 361 were from NEBGF, it was
held at Tarheel Beagle Club, in NC the last 2 years. Great club.
3. BAC-Donald Dobbs, Donald had a family event and couldn’t join us tonight. A chart from
AKC showed the entries, SPO and 2CP trials and entries are up YTD. Blaine gave a detailed
report from the BAC meeting.
4. New England Beagle Club - AKC Delegate, AKC income has reduced and they have
corrected their expenses to match their income. Litter registrations and registering dogs is
still their most consistent income for AKC.

1. Tri County, 24 people passed this year’s seminar, they will be sending a list of those
people.
2. Tunkhannock, we need at least 25 names to hold a seminar, Lycoming would also like to
hold one. They will work together to achieve the numbers needed. Those attending will also
need to take the Darkness to Light training before judging.

1. Pack Cards & Judges books, do we need them? New England clubs’ supplies are low. In
2023 they cost $1,300.00 to print. John Way moved, 2nd by Jason Wiseman to order more
cards and books, motion passed. Do we need any changes? None mentioned.
